The NextGen wireless network offers many improvements over the legacy wireless network.

Automatic logins

Devices that support WPA2 Enterprise can be configured for auto login when they access the "OHIO University" network.

Roaming

Once completed, the NextGen wireless network will allow you to move across campus without having to login repeatedly. In the meantime, roaming performance will vary as new locations are upgraded. 

Performance

The NextGen wireless network will offer speeds up to 300 Mbps for devices that support 802.11n.  Devices that use the older 802.11a/b/g protocols will also be supported but at lower speeds.  Performance, however, depends on many factors such as the capabilities of the wireless device, the location of the system/service you are accessing and the traffic levels at various places along the network path, etc.
