UNIVERSITY CURRICULUM COUNCIL

  

The Curriculum Council is the final recommending voice in curricular matters. Its recommendations go through the Provost to the President for final approval.

COURSE AND PROGRAM CHANGES 2011-2012

OCEAN

Courses

Making Changes to Existing Semester Courses

  • Beginning Friday, January 27th, course changes will be submitted through OCEAN.

Creating a New Semester Course

  • New semester courses can be initiated using the appropriate semester (new) course form in OCEAN. Expedited course forms will no longer be available.

Deleting a Semester Course

  • Semester courses can be deleted through OCEAN using the course delete form.

New Quarter Courses

  • New permanent quarter courses are no longer being accepted by UCC. The experimental course form and temporary course form will remain available for quarter courses.

Changes to Quarter Courses

  • Course changes to summer quarter courses should be received in time to be approved by UCC in February.



Programs

Making Changes to Existing Undergraduate Semester Programs

  1. Generate a pdf of the current undergraduate program from the draft semester catalog available at http://www.catalogs.ohio.edu/ (choose DRAFT OHIO University Undergraduate Catalog 2012-2013 DRAFT - UNOFFICIAL from the drop-down menu).

  2. Complete the Proposal for Changes in Program form and save as a pdf file.

  3. Email Bob Bulow (bulow@ohio.edu) in the Registrar's office to send back the program to make it available on OCEAN. The program will be available in your worklist. When the program   is in edit mode, many items will be editable, but DO NOT CHANGE ANY ITEMS IN OCEAN! Any changes made in OCEAN will not be communicated to the catalog.

  4. Upload the current undergraduate program pdf and the completed Proposal for Changes in Program form pdf under the relations tab, and submit.

Making Changes to Existing Graduate Semester Programs

  1. Generate a pdf of the current graduate program from OCEAN.

  2. Complete the Proposal for Changes in Program form and save as a pdf file.

  3. Email Bob Bulow (bulow@ohio.edu) in the Registrar's office to send back the program to make it available on OCEAN. The program will be available in your worklist. When the program   is in edit mode, many items will be editable, but DO NOT CHANGE ANY ITEMS IN OCEAN! Any changes made in OCEAN will not be communicated to the catalog.

  4. Upload the current graduate program pdf and the completed Proposal for Changes in Program form pdf under the relations tab, and submit.

Creating a New Semester Program

  • New semester programs can be initiated by contacting Bob Bulow (bulow@ohio.edu) in the Registrar's office. A program form will be created in OCEAN by the Registrar's office with a temporary program code. The program form should be completed in OCEAN. Include in OCEAN's discussion section the answers to the questions posed in the updated Guidelines for New Semester Programs (available at the bottom of the UCC downloadable forms page).

Making Changes to Existing Quarter Programs, Creating New Quarter Programs

  • New quarter programs and changes to existing quarter programs are no longer being accepted by the Programs Committee.
