CLEAN project

CLEAN stands for Clear Litter Everywhere in Athens Now, and our objective is to design trash cans that suit all the needs of the city while being attractive. Some of the specifications we need to meet are making trash cans that are hard to dump into, fire resistant, weather proof, and inexpensive.

Our past local project is located about 20 miles west of Athens, Ohio at an abandoned mine near Raccoon Creek. Currently, acid mine drainage is polluting the water of Raccoon Creek. A system is in place to decrease the pollution levels and our task is to design and implement a flow rate measuring system. By helping to decrease pollution, we hope to better the aquatic life and health of the Raccoon Creek Watershed. In 2005, our local project was to build a footbridge in Chauncey, Ohio.
