Our nationally recognized Patton College of Education has been leading the way in educating educators since 1886.
With a Bachelor of Science in Education, our students have opportunities to discover and pursue unique areas of interest, teach in urban and rural settings and even a different country.
Furthermore, you can choose to teach in a program at a partner school where you learn and apply the principles of equitable and socially just education along with a small group of your peers.

Education Programs
Early Childhood & Elementary Education
Our BS in Early Childhood Education leads to a teaching license for preschool (age 3) to grade 5.
Middle Childhood Education
Our Middle Childhood Education majors lead to a teaching license for grades 4-9 in two subject areas (selected from language arts, mathematics, science or social studies).
Adolescent-to-Young Adult Education
Our Adolescent-to-Young Adult (AYA) programs lead to a teaching license in grades 7-12 in one subject area (language arts, mathematics, science or social studies).
Family and Consumer Sciences Education
Learn and apply principles of consumer economics, financial literacy and resource management through our Family and Consumer Sciences Education major. There are two tracks: Community Leadership or Teaching – leads to a teaching license in grades 4-12.
Health & Physical Education
Our health and physical education major features dual-teaching certification. Graduates earn teaching licensure in both Health and Physical Education for grades PreK-12.
Special Education (Intervention Specialist)
Our special education major leads to a teaching license in grades K-12. There are two tracks: Mild to Moderate and Moderate to Intensive Educational Needs.
Spanish Education
Our spanish education major leads to a multi-age teaching license in grades P-12.
