Philanthropy

Alpha Omicron Pi's official philanthropy is Juvenile Arthritis and Arthritis Research. The women of AOII have raised thousands of dollars for their philanthropy in the past twenty years that they have been on the Ohio University Campus.

This past spring the members of Omega Upsilon hosted a "Big Brothers Big Sisters" olympics, pictured below, in addition to their "Strike Out Arthritis" dunk tank on College Green, which raises money and promotes awareness of Juvenile Arthritis.

Also this fall, the women hosted their annual "Greek Trick-or-Treat" with Theta Chi Fraternity which gives the children of Athens, Ohio the opportunity to trick-or-treat at each of the sorority and fraternity houses around campus. After trick-or-treating, members take the children back to the Theta Chi House for a fun filled carnival. Thanks to each of the sororities and fraternities that participated in the event this year.

In the past, AOII has also held events like G.I. AOII, where people purchased squirt guns to spray at the members, all while giving money to their philanthropy.

AOII also participates in many community service projects, such as participating in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life and raising money for Big Brother/Big Sister and My Sister's Place Women's Shelter.
