09/14/17 Learn about Monarch Butterflies

Start Date: September 14, 2017
End Date: September 14, 2017

The Zanesville Campus Library at Ohio University and Zane State College invites the community to attend a free educational program about monarch butterflies.

The monarch butterfly is one of the most popular in North America. It is an iconic symbol of summer, of beauty, but also of environmental health. Unfortunately, the monarch population is in decline.

In this presentation by Janet Taylor-Lehman, participants will learn interesting and surprising facts about the life of the monarch; where, why and how the monarch overwinters; and how in Muskingum County, survival of the monarch can be promoted. In addition guests will learn why the species is in decline and will receive a free gift.

This free community education program will be held on Thursday, September 14, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. at the Herrold Hall Zanesville Campus Library on Newark Road.
