Freshmen Admission

Anyone who holds a high school diploma or has a GED certificate is eligible for admission to Ohio University Zanesville. The application process for beginning college students is listed below:

  • Step 1: Create an account to get started.

  • Step 2: Using your new account information, complete the Application for Admission. For freshman applicants who do not want to use the online application, please print and mail the alternative Ohio University Regional Campus Application (PDF) with a non-refundable $20 application fee.            

  • Step 3: Request high school transcript or GED Certificate be sent to Ohio University Undergraduate Admissions, Chubb Hall 120, 1 Ohio University Drive, Athens, OH, 45701 or bring your GED certificate- complete with scores, to the Office of Student Services, 1425 Newark Rd., Zanesville, OH, 43701.

  • Step 4: Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

  • Step 5: If you have taken the ACT or SAT, submit your scores to Ohio University Undergraduate Admissions if you are still in high school or have been out of high school for less than a year.

  • Step 6: The Office of Student Services will contact you regarding orientation dates and times after you have been admitted. At orientation, you will meet with an academic advisor to plan your schedule and register for classes.

Students who have participated in Post Secondary Enrollment Option Program (PSEOP), or earned credit in a Dual Enrollment Program (other than Ohio University), must also submit official transcripts before final processing.
