English Minor

Program Description

The English minor offers students an overview of the history, conventions, and practices of literature and rhetoric in English, while allowing them to experience a diversity of texts through electives of their choice. The emphasis in critical thinking and analytical writing makes the English minor valuable for students who are pursuing majors in a variety of disciplines, including the fine arts, humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. Students in the English minor also have the opportunity to develop their skills as writers of poetry, fiction, and nonfiction prose.

Opportunities Upon Graduation

Completion of the English minor will enable students to pursue career opportunities in which critical analysis of information and highly-developed writing skills are required.
