The following steps will change the ownership of a CommonSpot page, including a template, so that the new owner can find the page through the "My Pages" dialog, and be permitted to modify the page or template. In the current version of CommonSopt, the new owner may well not be able to see the template listed in the "My Templates" category of the template gallery at new-page-creation time. The new owner can, however, place the template into the "Shared Templates" category. See steps 17 through 24 of the template creation process. Once that has been done, it should be possible to create a new page based on that template. If not, please contact OIT by e-mail to email@example.com or telephone (593-1222).
Login, navigate to the page in question, select View Page in CommonSpot, Work on this Page, or Work on this Page (All Changes).
Click on the Actions button in the content-spanning toolbar and select "Change Owner..." from the pop-up menu.
Click on the "Choose..." button.
If the user who should become the owner is among the first 200 alphabetically listed, you could just scroll. For those farther down the alphabet, or just to reduce the clutter, we suggest typing the first few letters of the person's last name into the search field, and then clicking on the "Filter" button or pressing the "Return" key. You could also click on the first letter of the last name.
Click on the appropriate user to highlight his or her name.
Click on the "OK" button.
Click on the "Save" button to confirm the change of ownership.
Wait for the display to be updated on your screen.
If this generates an error message, then close the lightbox for the error message, and then close the lightbox for the ownership change.
Confirm the change of ownership by clicking on the Properties button on the content-spanning toolbar, and selecting Details.
Close the details lightbox.
