Deadline approaching to sign up for academic entrepreneurship and research seminar

If you’re a faculty member, postgraduate research student or postdoctoral researcher and are interested in academic entrepreneurship, it’s not too late to sign up for the Bobcat Research Course: Moving Innovation to Commercialization.

The Bobcat Research Course: Moving Innovation to Commercialization, is a free four-session seminar that provides developing Ohio University researchers insight into academic entrepreneurship through mini-modules and a variety of speakers from within and outside of the University. Session topics include: the entrepreneurship and commercialization ecosystem at Ohio University; intellectual property and support for licensing, commercialization and protection; techniques and tactics to improve grant writing; the role of consultancy and consulting projects; research project management; business model development, pitching, presentation and negotiation skills; and research funds, grant programs and venture finance.

The session dates are as follows:

  • Wednesday, March 9, 3  - 7 p.m. in Grover W135
  • Wednesday, March 16, 3 - 7 p.m. in Grover W135
  • Tuesday, March 22, 4 - 6 p.m. in Grover W125
  • Thursday, March 24, 4  - 6 p.m. in Grover W125
  • **Optional attendance at the TechGROWTH Ohio Innovation Celebration on Tuesday, March 29, from 5:30 - 7 p.m. in the Baker University Ballroom
