Andreana Madera Martorell

Master of Science in Environmental Studies Candidate

Andreana Madera-Martorel is a Master of Environmental Studies candidate.  Madera-Martorel graduated from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez in 2018 with a Bachelor’s degree in geology.  Her research focuses on geology, hydrogeology and geographic information systems.  Currently, Madera-Martorel’s work involves conducting a hydrogeological study of an abandoned underground mine in Athens to determine its potential use as a geothermal reservoir for ground source heat pumps.  When she finishes her MSES, she hopes to be employed in a position where she can combine her skills in GIS and hydrology to protect the environment.  Outside of class Madera-Martorel is a Sustainability Ambassador at Ohio University and collaborator for the Facebook page "The Geology Project.”
