ARHI Needs Assessment Survey I, II, III [2009]
As part of the former Appalachian Rural Health Institute (ARHI) Diabetes Research Initiative, residents in Belmont, Columbiana, Gallia, Harrison, Jefferson, Lawrence, Monroe, Muskingum, and Noble counties participated in a health care needs assessment survey. This survey collected prevalence data on a number of chronic diseases with an emphasis on diabetes. Additional information was collected on relevant risk factors, including smoking, physical exercise, high cholesterol, and obesity. The current survey (ARHI III) includes many of the questions from previous ARHI surveys conducted by the Voinovich School in 2006 (Jackson, Meigs, Morgan, Perry, Ross, Scioto, and Washington counties) and 2003 (Athens, Hocking, Pike, and Vinton counties).
