Voinovich School Lunch and Learn session features HPIO’s Reem Aly

Reem Aly, in-house legal counsel for the Health Policy Institute of Ohio (HPIO), will speak about her work using data and evidence to eliminate racism and advance equity during the next installment of Ohio University’s Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs fall 2020 virtual Lunch and Learn session on Friday, October 16 from noon to 1 p.m.

The presentation will focus on Aly’s role as HPIO’S in-house legal counsel and her efforts to provide Ohio policymakers and health stakeholders with high quality, objective information that is relevant to their policy decisions. The information focuses on health equity, maternal and child health and the intersections of the health care system and population health. Aly co-leads the development of HPIO’S Health Value Dashboard, a tool to track Ohio’s progress towards health value, and is an adjunct faculty member at Ohio State University’s College of Public Health.

Aly earned her law degree and Master of Health Administration, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Ohio State University. She was one of six inaugural recipients of AcademyHealth’s 2013 Presidential Scholarship for the AcademyHealth Institute on Advocacy and Public Policy.
