Virtual Program Student Schedule

This is a general overview of the Virtual BSO program. A personalized schedule will be provided on the day of their program via the email provided on the sign-up form.

Time	Session
Before 8:15 a.m.	Electronic Check-in Students will check in for the program by going to the link in the final details message sent to their OHIO email 3-4 days before the orientation date. After completing the online form, students will receive an email confirming their check-in. That email will include a link to the first meeting of the day. This must be completed by 8:15 am on the BSO date.
	If you are participating in BSO from Mountain Standard Time (MST) or Pacific Standard Time (PST) you will receive pre-recorded versions of the first two presentations when you complete the check-in process. We recommend checking in early on the day before your program to have time to watch those videos.
7:30 a.m.-5 p.m.	Virtual Help Desk Available A link to a virtual help desk will be available throughout the day for any students having difficulty getting to the appropriate virtual meeting spaces or for any additional assistance needed.
8 a.m.	Virtual Meeting Rooms Open Guests should join their student on the same device for the beginning of the program. Students are encouraged to log in before the program to ensure their technology is ready to begin promptly at 8:30 am. A virtual help desk will be available for students with questions or concerns.
8:30-8:50 a.m.	BSO Welcome and Program Overview Meet the orientation team, review the orientation program schedule, and hear from University administration.
8:50-9:05 a.m.	OHIO History and Traditions Learn more about the rich history of Ohio University and how you can become a part of that legacy.
9:05-9:25 a.m.	What It Means to Be a Bobcat Our students will share perspectives on what it means to be a new student joining our community.
9:25-9:30 a.m.	Quick Stretch Break
9:30-9:55 a.m.	Your Personalized Plan for Success Discover the OHIO Guarantee+, your personalized graduation plan, and your network of support which includes a Success Advisor, Career Strategist, Experience Designer and Faculty Mentor. Learn more about how you can co-create a guided pathway and make the most of your time at OHIO.
9:55-10:20 a.m.	Services to Know Representatives from the Registrar’s Office, Financial Aid and Scholarships, Bursar’s Office, and Transportation and Parking Services will share important information to know in your transition.
10:20-10:25 a.m.	Family and Guest Dismissal
10:20-10:50 a.m.	Expectations and Opportunities Learn more about the expectations for each member of our Bobcat family and the ways each of us plays a role in helping our community to thrive.
10:50-11 a.m.	Belonging at OHIO Get to know your orientation leaders and other students attending the program, while learning about campus involvement and the student experience.
11-11:30 a.m.	Succeeding as a New Student Our orientation staff will share a few key things about your academic college, as well as discuss important systems and processes used in the course registration process.
11:30-12 p.m.	Bobcat Essentials Learn more about being a successful student from those who know it best: other students. Our student leaders will highlight resources and answer student questions about their own experiences at the University.
12-1 p.m.	Lunch Break
1-4:30 p.m.	Academic Essentials with Colleges and Course Registration Connect with your advisors and learn about University, college, and major requirements as you prepare for course registration. Academic advisors and orientation leaders will be available to assist you in registering for Fall Semester courses. Student advising appointments will be scheduled at different times in this window, so attendees must prepare to be available for the entire time.
1:30-5 p.m.	Required Student Check-out After completing course registration, all students will be required to check out with the orientation team to end their BSO experience. Check-out meetings will be one-on-one conversations during this time and will last approximately 10-15 minutes, so you do not need to plan on being available for this entire time block.
