Virtual Program Guest Schedule

Time	Session
Before 8:15 a.m.	Electronic Check-in Students will check in for the program by going to the link in the final details message sent to their OHIO email 3-4 days before the orientation date. After completing the online form, students will receive an email confirming their check-in. That email will include a link to the first meeting of the day. This must be completed by 8:15 am on the BSO date.
	If you are participating in BSO from Mountain Standard Time (MST) or Pacific Standard Time (PST) you will receive pre-recorded versions of the first two presentations when you complete the check-in process. We recommend checking in early on the day before your program to have time to watch those videos.
7:30 a.m.-5 p.m.	Virtual Help Desk Available A link to a virtual help desk will be available throughout the day for any students having difficulty getting to the appropriate virtual meeting spaces or for any additional assistance needed.
8 a.m.	Virtual Meeting Rooms Open Guests should join their student on the same device for the beginning of the program. Students are encouraged to log in before the program to ensure their technology is ready to begin promptly at 8:30 am. A virtual help desk will be available for students with questions or concerns.
8:30-8:50 a.m.	BSO Welcome and Program Overview Meet the orientation team, review the orientation program schedule, and hear from University administration.
8:50-9:05 a.m.	OHIO History and Traditions Learn more about the rich history of Ohio University and how you can become a part of that legacy.
9:05-9:25 a.m.	What It Means to Be a Bobcat Our students will share perspectives on what it means to be a new student joining our community.
9:25-9:30 a.m.	Quick Stretch Break
9:30-9:55 a.m.	Your Personalized Plan for Success Discover the OHIO Guarantee+, your personalized graduation plan, and your network of support which includes a Success Advisor, Career Strategist, Experience Designer and Faculty Mentor. Learn more about how you can co-create a guided pathway and make the most of your time at OHIO.
9:55-10:20 a.m.	Services to Know (with students) Representatives from the Registrar’s Office, Financial Aid and Scholarships, Bursar’s Office, and Transportation and Parking Services will share important information to know in your transition.
10:20-10:25 a.m.	Family and Guest Dismissal
10:25-10:30 a.m.	Family and Guest Program Overview More detailed information about the family and guest program schedule will be shared.
10:30-10:55 a.m.	Supporting Students in Transition This session will include some important information about the transitional experience students are going through and how family members/guests can support them. Our staff will close the session with a few reminders for all guests in attendance, including an opportunity to provide feedback to our team.
10:55-11:20 a.m.	Expectations and Opportunities for Your Student Learn more about the expectations OHIO has for our students and explore how OHIO helps its students to thrive.
11:25 a.m. – 12:10 p.m.	Family and Guest Academic Meet and Greet with Colleges Connect with your student’s academic college and learn about University, college, and major requirements.
12:10-1 p.m.	Lunch Break
1-1:45 p.m.	What I Wish My Family Knew Our orientation leaders will share their own stories about interactions with their family members in their own transition. An opportunity for guests to ask direct questions of the student panel will also be included.
1:45-2:30 p.m.	Campus Resource Panel Join staff from various offices across campus to get your questions answered and learn more about services available to your student.
2:30-2:45 p.m.	Break
2:45-3:30 p.m.	Family and Guest Roundtable Select topics you are interested in for conversations facilitated by orientation leaders and campus partners.
3:30-3:45 p.m.	Program Conclusion and Wrap-Up Our staff will close the session with a few reminders for all guests in attendance, including an opportunity to provide feedback to our team.
