Program Dates

For transfer students entering in fall 2021

Once you've been admitted, choose the date you'll attend BSO. Available dates are listed below, with in-person and virtual single-day options to suit the needs of you and your guest(s). Please review the additional information on our website about the program before signing up (Transfer / Family and Guest). Sign up for the program at the link below.

In-Person Virtual
Wednesday, June 2 Friday, June 4
Monday, June 21 Tuesday, June 15
Tuesday, June 22
Friday, June 25
Monday, June 28

Whether you choose to attend in person or virtually, plan to clear your schedule and spend the full day learning how to Bobcat (breaks are provided, of course). Full participation in your BSO agenda will be required in order to register for classes during the program.

If you’re attending in-person, please note that each student will be permitted to bring a maximum of two guests. You and your guests will have the option of staying on campus in a residence hall the night before your scheduled BSO program. Students will indicate this when completing the sign-up process and can update that information if your plans change before BSO. Students are able to do this for free because the cost is included in The OHIO Guarantee, but there are additional fees for guests.  We’ll share additional information via email about safety protocols specific to your BSO date as it approaches.

If you’re attending virtually, you’ll participate online via Microsoft Teams, and we’ll provide the support you need for you and your guests to get set up, logged in, and connected to OHIO. While participating in our virtual events, students should not be at work, attending classes, or driving in a vehicle.

Sign up for your orientation session

When signing up for your session, you will choose an available date and also indicate if any family members or guests intend to participate in BSO with you. Students are required to participate in all sessions that are part of the program in order to register for classes at orientation, so be sure to clear your schedule and plan to fully participate in all elements of the program virtually.

You'll need your OHIO email address and password to access the form. If you haven't already activated your OHIO ID and campus email address, follow the instructions on the account activation website.

First-year students are eligible to sign up for their specific orientation session after they have successfully completed their housing contract and paid their deposit or completed an exemption waiver. The automated process for housing contracts can take up to 24 hours from the time the housing deposit is received for a student to be able to sign up.  Those students submitting exemptions may need to wait up to 24 hours after receiving confirmation of commuter status approval to be able to sign up.

Transfer students are eligible to sign up for their orientation session once they have officially been admitted to Ohio University.
