Residence Hall Overnight Accommodations Check-in (Optional)
Students and their guests have the option to stay on campus in a residence hall the night before their orientation program. There will be no sessions or programmatic elements during the stay. Students can sign up for this when signing up for orientation. Fees apply.

The check-in process will include a residence hall check-in for all students and an optional check-in for guests choosing to stay on campus overnight. Recommended arrival times are based on last names: A-D (7:00); E-K (7:25), L-Q (7:50), R-Z (8:15)

Program Check-in
After checking into the residence hall, all students and guests will need to complete a program check-in before heading to the first session.

Our orientation staff will share a few key things about your academic college, as well as discuss important systems and processes used in the course registration process.

Connect with your advisors and learn about University, college and major requirements as you prepare for course registration.

2:45-3:15 p.m. Bobcat Essentials
Learn more about being a successful student from those who know it best: other students. Our student leaders will highlight resources and answer student questions about their own experiences at the University.

3:30-5:20 p.m. Bobcat Breakout Sessions
Take ownership of your orientation experience by choosing which content is most important to you or applies to your individual needs. Students and guests will select which sessions to attend in half-hour session blocks with ten-minute transition times in between. Topics include: Owning Your Academic Success, Living on Campus, Paying for College, and many more.

  Inclusive Excellence Dinner
The Division of Diversity and Inclusion invites you to join us for our Inclusive Excellence Dinner. The dinner will feature current OHIO students providing perspectives on the student experience, including their experiences with the LGBT Center, Multicultural Center, Office of Multicultural Success and Retention, and Women’s Center. You will also learn about various Division of Diversity and Inclusion programs designed to support your transition to college.

6:15-7:30 p.m. Expectations and Opportunities
In this session, students will learn more about the expectations for each member of our Bobcat family. Students can expect to learn about ways each of us plays a role in helping our community to thrive.

7:45-8:15 p.m. Escape BSO
Through this interactive small group competition facilitated by Orientation Leaders, students will review important concepts from earlier in the day and in the Pre-BSO modules.

Unwind after the long orientation day by participating in a wide array of social activities, continuing to meet new people, and developing further connections with others.

Students and guests who stayed on campus during the program can check out of their rooms first thing in the morning to get a head start for their trip home following the program.

8:15-8:50 a.m. Owning Your New Student Transition
Orientation Leaders will discuss typical concerns in the new student transition and resources to support those transitional experiences.

9-9:30 a.m. Tools for Registration
Join the orientation staff to discuss the tools needed to complete course registration and prepare to register for your first semester classes.

Academic advisors and orientation leaders will be available to assist you in registering for Fall Semester courses.

After completing course registration, all students will be required to check out with the orientation team to end their BSO experience.

Students and guests who stayed on campus during the program must check out by 1 pm.

Resource Fair                                                 
Have new questions to ask or missed someone on Day 1? Go back to the Resource Fair before leaving the program to connect with those offices. Don’t forget to finish filling out your Resource Fair Passport to submit for a prize drawing!

Visit residence hall rooms for a better understanding of what it will be like to live on campus. Options will be provided on each green.
