First-Year Guest Schedule (May/June)

This schedule is for all in-person orientation programs for first-year students in May and June.

Evening Before BSO Program - Sunday, Tuesday, or Thursday

Residence Hall Overnight Accommodations Check-in (Optional)
Students and their guests have the option to stay on campus in a residence hall the night before their orientation program. There will be no sessions or programmatic elements during the stay. Students can sign up for this when signing up for orientation. Fees apply.

7:30 - 9 a.m. Orientation Parking
Staff will be in the marked parking lots beginning at 7:30am. They will greet you at the entrance, pass out parking permits, and a check-in form to fill out before heading to Baker University Center.
Lots 127 and 128 (around the Convocation Center)
7:30 - 9:15 a.m. Program Check-in
Students and guests will be guided by staff and signage from orientation parking over to BSO Program Check-In, which must be completed before heading to the first session.

7:45 - 9:15 a.m. Resource Fair
Programs and services will host tables for students and their guests to connect and learn more about available resources.

9:30 - 10:20 a.m. Morning Presentations (with Students)
Students and guests will hear more about the program schedule, meet the orientation team and hear from university leadership. We'll also share more about our history and traditions.

10:20 - 11:00 a.m. Family and Guest Presentations

11:15 a.m. - 12:20 p.m. Family and Guest Academic Session with Colleges
Connect with your student’s academic college and learn about University, college, and major requirements.

12:30 - 1:30 p.m. Lunch Boyd Dining Hall
1:45 - 2:45 p.m. Family and Guest Roundtable Discussions and Supporting Students in Transition
Program participants will have an opportunity to select topics they are interested in to have lightly facilitated conversations. Discussions will be facilitated by orientation leaders and campus partners. Finally a session about supporting students in their transition will be presented.

3 - 5 p.m. Bobcat Breakout Sessions
Take ownership of your orientation experience by choosing which content is most important to you or applies to your individual needs. Students and guests will select which sessions to attend in half-hour session blocks with fifteen-minute transition times in between.

5 - 6:30 p.m. Dinner and Residence Hall Move-In
Students and guests will be moving into their residence halls for the overnight stay during this time. Shuttles will be available to help you get your luggage from orientation parking to the residence halls. Don't forget to have dinner in Boyd Dining Hall too!

Day 2 - Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday
7 - 8:15 a.m. Residence Hall Move-Out
Students and guests who stayed on campus during the program check out of their rooms. Shuttles will be available to help you get your luggage from the residence halls to orientation parking.

8:15 - 10:35 a.m. Family and Guest Program Presentations
Our orientation leaders will share their own stories about interactions with their family members in their own transition. We will also have presentations about FERPA and the Registrar's Office, helping your student THRIVE at OHIO and next steps.

10:35 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Resource Fair      
Have new questions to ask or missed someone on Day 1? Go back to the Resource Fair before leaving the program to connect with those offices. Don’t forget to encourage your student to finish filling out their Resource Fair Passport to submit for a prize drawing!

10:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. Residence Hall Viewings
Visit residence hall rooms for a better understanding of what it will be like to live on campus. Options will be provided on each green.
