Joe Crowley has been working in the outdoor and adventure recreation field since the early 2000s where he started leading outdoor trips for his undergraduate peers. He earned his Master's degree here, at OHIO University in Recreation Studies and has applied his adventure expertise in a variety of environments including summer camps, public school education, special education, community programming, and staff development among others. He enjoys creating sustainable situations where communities, and individuals, can become independent in their participation within these areas and discover the benefits of nature based activity and its applications to other areas of their lives. 

Crowley's experience includes planning and facilitating equitable adventure and recreation based experiences for diverse populations with the idea of creating healthy, lifestyle sport participation for individuals, and positive economic impact for communities. Areas of specialty include flat and whitewater kayaking and canoeing, whitewater rafting, biking, mountain biking, navigation, rock climbing, stand up paddle-boarding, hiking and backpacking, group and team building/facilitation.
