Jenny Hall-Jones was named associate vice president for Student Affairs and dean of students at Ohio University yesterday by Vice President for Student Affairs Ryan Lombardi. Hall-Jones is currently serving as interim in the position, and the official appointment will start May 1.
A national search to fill the position yielded three finalists, and Hall-Jones was determined to be the right candidate, Lombardi said.
“As interim dean, Jenny has worked tirelessly to maintain the strong history of student support and advocacy in the dean's office,” Lombardi said. “She has worked effectively with campus and city partners while moving several key initiatives forward during this transition year. I believe that Jenny will enhance the Dean of Students role and will help ensure that we continue to support Ohio University students in maximizing their educational experience.”
“I'm truly honored to serve as the dean of students at Ohio University,” Hall-Jones said. “OHIO is special because our students are our priority. We do not create programs, services and learning opportunities for students, but with students. I look forward to further enhancing our student-centered mission.”
Hall-Jones is an OHIO alumna, holding a bachelor’s degree in sociology (1995); a master’s degree in college student personnel (1997); and a doctoral degree in higher education (2011).
