OHIO First Scholars Program plans back-to-school ice cream social

OHIO First Scholars, Ohio University’s campus-wide program to support and engage first-generation college students, welcomes our first-gen students, faculty, and staff to campus as we begin fall semester.

Whether you are new to campus, or returning, we hope your summer was filled with sunshine, adventure, and time spent with loved ones. The first week of fall semester classes begins August 26, and OHIO First Scholars will host an ice cream social to warmly welcome our first-gen Bobcats to campus.

If you’re a first-gen student, faculty,  or staff member or an OHIO First Scholars Mentor or Advocate, come meet people and connect with fellow first gen Bobcats.  Join us to learn more about the OHIO First Scholars program and first-gen community who will be a wonderful support system for you during your time here. The back to school event will be held in Nelson Commons on Wednesday, August 28, from 5-7 p.m. Come and make a sundae, enjoy a popsicle, learn about OHIO First Scholars, and get connected.

Bring your smile, and any questions you may have throughout this exciting time. Take a break from reading syllabi and cool off with us. We hope to see you there!
