Math and Science Tutoring at Ohio University

The Math and Science Center (MSC) offers many first and second year math and science based courses at NO COST by appointment, day time drop in, and evening walk-ins. Come prepared to explore your subject with our dedicated MSC Tutors who will guide you whether you need help on a difficult concept or simply need to review your material. Log in to TutorTrac and select 'Math and Science Center' to determine if a tutor is available for your course. For assistance, stop in to the Academic Achievement Center in Alden 230 or call 740-593-2655.


Hours of operation

  • Monday–Friday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Sunday–Thursday, 6–8 pm.

If you cannot locate a specific course through our drop-in offerings consider the following alternatives:

  • Continue to check TutorTrac or new appointments.
  • Make an appointment with a study skills tutor for help with test preparation.
  • If you need help writing a paper, check out the Student Writing Center.
  • Join or create a study group with your classmates.
  • Visit the department offering your course. Departments often have workshops or labs for students.
  • Use resources found online:
    • Visit Khan Academy for Math, Science, Computer Science, Finance & Economics, Humanities, and GRE Test Prep.
    • Visit Purdue Online Writing Lab for assistance with all aspects of writing and ESL.
    • Visit How to Study for study tips and guides across various disciplines.
