Reserved Garage Permits

Fees, Payment Methods, and Refunds

Baker & Jefferson Garage Reserved parking is $800 for the full year if the permit is paid in full upon initial purchase. A full year is August 1st - July 31st. If a multi-payment option is selected, additional fees will apply. Please see the fee schedule below for further clarification.

A reserved permit includes parking in a reserved, numbered space within the garage from August 1st - July 31st of the specified year. Permit fees prorate each month on the 1st of each month. Refunds are only issued once a permit has been returned. The refund amount is determined by the date in which the permit is received by Parking Services. Refunds are not issued based on when the permit was last used. To determine how much of a refund you are eligible for, you must contact Parking Services.

Parking must be obtained with the intention of paying for the entire year in order to retain parking within the reserved space for that particular school year. If fees are not paid by the due date, the permit will be deactivated and reserved parking privileges will be lost. Late fees may apply.

Payment methods are as follows. Faculty/staff permit fees are paid via payroll deductio. Student parking fees must be paid at the time of request to secure the parking area. Failure to pay all assoicated fees by the due date(s) will result in loss of parking. Fees may be paid via cash, check, or credit card. Credit card payments may be paid via phone to secure parking in advance.

Once a reserved permit has been purchased, it may be renewed yearly without having to reapply via the permit request form. Current permit holders will be contacted late June or early July to arrange parking for the following school year.

If the permit is returned for a refund at any time or is not renewed or paid by the payment deadline, the reserved space is placed back into rotation, and the customer must later complete a new application if reserved parking is later desired. Once a permit is requested and then awarded, the customer is then responsible for the payment of the $15 processing fee--even if the permit was never picked up.

Payment Options

Payment amounts will be adjusted accordingly based on the fee schedule once permit fees begin prorating. The payment schedule below simply shows how additional fees are applied when the multi-payment option is selected and when payments are due for each associated option.

Payment Due Dates & Late Fees:

Upon initial purchase, payment is due within two weeks of award notification. Payment may be made via phone or in person at the Parking Services office located at 100 Factory Street when permit is picked up or payment may be mailed to the same address to hold the permit until it can be picked up. Permits will not be held for those who fail to pay the associated fees. Refunds are not issued for periods in which the permit has been paid but not picked up. Failure to remit payment for a permit by the deadline will result in the permit being sold to another customer.

Subsequent payments are due before the 1st day of each month as indicated on the payment option selected. Payments received after the 7th of each month are considered late, and a $25 late fee will be added to the customer's account. If payment is not received after the 10th of the month, the permit will be deactivated, and it will no longer allow entry into the garage facility. Once a permit has been deactivated, no refund is given; and the permit is considered Invalid and may not be used for parking within the garage facility.

Termination of employment at Ohio University will result in the permit being deactivated. If an employee should terminate employment, the reserved permit must be returned to Parking Services for a prorated refund of the unused portion.

Withdrawing from classes or no longer attending classes at Ohio University will result in the permit being deactivated. If a student should withdraw from the University or is no longer enrolled as an active student, the reserved permit must be returned to Parking Services for a prorated refund of the unused portion.
