Pollution Prevention Week

Pollution Prevention Week design

September 18-24, 2017

In June, 2017, the City of Athens was granted a Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4) permit from the Ohio EPA.  Part of the permit application was a required Storm Water Management Program (SWMP).  Ohio University submitted their SWMP in conjunction with the City of Athens.

The SWMP contains 6 minimum control measures, one of which is Public Education.  Ohio University suggested several Public Education measures to meet the EPA's requirements, including the celebration of Pollution Prevention Week on campus.  2017 will be the first Pollution Prevention Week celebrated on Ohio University's campus.

All events are free and open to the public except where noted.  All events subject to change.
