This summer, Compton will further expand her professional portfolio as a faculty member of the Association for Student Conduct Administration’s Donald D. Gehring Academy. The 2016 Donald D. Gehring Academy will take place from June 13-16 at the University of California - Berkeley and July 11-14 in Indianapolis.
On May 16, Marketing and Design Specialist Tasha Gardone was awarded an Ohio University Communication Award for excellence in marketing and branding at University Communications and Marketing’s annual Campus Communicator Network Expo. The award recognized the #BobcatsOfAthens social media campaign, which was implemented under Gardone’s direction during Homecoming 2015.
Adapted from the popular Facebook page, “Humans of New York,” #BobcatsOfAthens aimed to highlight alumni, connect Student Affairs employees with students and promote DOSA departments in keeping with the Homecoming theme, “Same Bricks, Different Stories.” At the end of the week-long implementation, the six Instagram and Facebook posts had yielded 1,300 engagements and 43,161 impressions. #BobcatsOfAthens can be viewed here.
