Below is this history of the task force from its inception through the 2013-2014 academic year.

In September 2012, Ohio University President Roderick McDavis charged a task force to respond to Ohio Board of Regents Resolution in July 2012 that called for each campus to consider adopting a smoke and tobacco-free policy. The task force originally convened in November 2012 and was comprised of the following faculty, staff and students:

A second committee, the Smoke and tobacco-free Implementation Task Force, was charged to determine an implantation plan for the making OHIO smoke and tobacco-free. The task for met from October 22, 2013 through March 25, 2014 and was comprised of the following:

The Smoke and Tobacco-Free Task Force Committee, whose members served in the 2014-2015 academic year, was comprised of the following.
