Dads Weekend is a time for fathers and families to immerse themselves in the Ohio University experience and join the Bobcat Community for a wonderful, fun-filled adventure, all while spending special time with their students.

On-Campus Overnight Accommodations

Standard Single Rooms: $160 per room for a two-night minimum. Maximum occupancy of 1 person. Includes one twin bed (with bed linens, a standard pillow and one bath towel set), one desk/chair, microwave/refrigerator unit, and shared bath.

Standard Double Rooms: $320 per room for a two-night minimum. Maximum occupancy of 2 people. Includes two twin beds (with bed linens, 2 standard pillows and 2 bath towel sets), 2 desks/chairs, microwave/refrigerator unit, and shared bath.

Dads Weekend Comedian, Michael Kosta

8 p.m. | Baker Ballroom 
Michael Kosta is a stand-up comedian and former professional player that is currently a Correspondent on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.  He was the host and co-executive producer of The Comment Section for the E! Network and is well known from his numerous late night appearances on Conan, The Tonight Show, Seth Meyers, and @midnight, as well as from his 30-minute special Comedy Central Presents: Michael Kosta.

OHIO MAKES - Build your own cornhole set

1 – 4 p.m. | Athens Ohio Makerspace (751 W. Union St., Athens OH 45701) | $35

Come on out to the Athens Ohio Makerspace and build a custom set of Cornhole Boards! Each ticket gets you 1 complete set including bags! Tickets are being sold per cornhole set, not per person, so only purchase as many tickets as cornhole board sets that you are interested in.

Alden Open 2019

10 a.m. – 4 p.m. | Alden Library (course starts on 4th floor) | $5 for 9 holes, $10 for 18

Bobcats and their dads can get a round of golf in all from the comfort of Alden Library. The first, third and fourth floors will be transformed into a miniature golf course for the day.

Each participant gets three minutes to hit six golf balls down the Driving Range, and the participant who hits it the farthest will reign supreme!

Dads Weekend Pancake Breakfast – Hosted by Bobcathon

Looking for good food and an even better cause this Dads Weekend? Come support Bobcathon, an organization that helps raise money for the Ronald McDonald House of Central Ohio. Stargazing & Campfire

November 1 & 2, 8 – 11 p.m. each night | The Ridges (meet at Ping) | $10

Join Outdoor Pursuits for an evening of stargazing and campfire fun. First we will do a short and easy hike around the Ridges, then spend the evening roasting marshmallows, spotting constellations, gazing through a telescope, and listening to tales of the night sky and Ridges lore. Fee includes transportation and campfire snacks. Meet at Ping at 7:45 p.m., and wear appropriate outdoor clothing to walk in and bring a water bottle. We plan to be back at Ping by 11 p.m.. All participants must register individually.

Dads Weekend Conkle’s Hollow Day Hike

November 2 & 3, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. each day | Conkle's Hollow (meet at Ping) | $20

Join Outdoor Pursuits on a day hike through the Old Mans Cave region of Hocking Hills State Park. This area is scattered with a variety of geologic features including waterfalls, sandstone cliffs, and rock formations. This trip is a great way to spend the day with your dad, family or friends! Fee includes transportation and guide staff. Trip departs Ping at 10 a.m. and returns to Ping at 3 p.m.. Lunch will be provided after the hike. Please bring a water bottle and appropriate hiking clothes. All participants must register individually.

Dads Weekend Ziplining

November 2 & 3, hourly timeslots 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. | The Ridges | $25

Head for the Ridges to catch some air on the Outdoor Pursuits zip line! The excitement builds as you climb the 40-foot tower to the takeoff platform and fly down a 300-foot zip line. Fee includes all equipment, instruction, and optional shuttle to the zip line facility.
