It’s never too early to learn about different industries and explore career options. In order to help students do that, the Career and Leadership Development Center (CLDC) has organized a Storytelling Industry Panel from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, in CoLab – Alden Library 301.
Storytelling transcends many majors and industries, from writing, media and fine arts to performing arts, marketing, history and beyond. Attending this event can help students develop insights into a wide range of storytelling professions and learn creative ways to share their own stories. Dori Branch, assistant director of mentorship programming at the CLDC, advises students to “come prepared to listen and learn.” Students can also take advantage of a Q&A session and the opportunity to network with the panelists over light hors d’oeuvres and drinks following the event.
Business casual is preferred for the panel, and students who do not have professional clothing are welcome to explore the CLDC’s Career Closet.
This industry panel is the first of three lined up for the year. The next two panels will focus on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math), and sustainability. Students across all majors and levels are welcome at the three events. Visit Handshake for more information.
