OHIO’s annual Sibs Weekend Feb. 1-3

Come one, come all: Siblings, cousins and other family members are invited to Ohio University’s Athens Campus from Feb. 1 through Feb. 3 for the University’s annual Sibs Weekend. Ohio University is pleased to offer a number of events for extended members of the Bobcat family to enjoy.

 

What: Women’s Basketball Game vs. Ball State

Where: Convocation Center

When: 1 p.m. on Feb. 2

 

What: Men’s Basketball Game vs. Akron, halftime performance by Red Panda

Where: Convocation Center

When: 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 2

 

What: OHIO Hockey vs. Syracuse

Where: Bird Arena

When: 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 1

Cost: Tickets are $9 for adults, $7 for children and $7 for students.

 

What: OHIO Hockey vs. Syracuse

Where: Bird Arena

When: 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 2

Cost: Tickets are $9 for adults, $7 for children and $6 for students.

 

What: Escape Room: Work with a group to find clues and solve puzzles to escape your room.

Where: Ping Recreation Center

When: One hour sessions between noon and 4 p.m. on Feb. 2.

Cost: Tickets are $10 per person.

 

What: Remote-control car building: Hang out in the new Ohio University CoLab, a space aimed at student creativity, entrepreneurship and innovation. This event includes a build your own remote-controlled car event in OHIO’s new makerspace. Cost includes all supplies to build a functioning remote-control car along with some refreshments.

When: 2 p.m. on Feb. 2

Cost: Tickets are $25 per person.

 

What: Performing Arts Series, The Passing Zone – Saves the World: The Passing Zone is one of the most inventive, successful, and funny duos working today. Jon Wee and Owen Morse have more awards, accolades and experience than most performers achieve in a lifetime, and, according to them, they’re just getting started! Participants will have a difficult time deciding whether to hang onto their chairs as chainsaws fly through the air, hold their breath as they perform world-class skills, or grab their stomachs as they double over with laughter.

Where: Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium

When: 8 p.m. on Feb. 1

Cost: Tickets are $15 per person

 

What: University Libraries from A to Zine - Zine making: Zine making workshop! Join us in the Alden Library for the opportunity to make your own zine: A small self-published work with the contents and structure of your choosing, and that can be circulated among your friends and community. There will be supplies, guided demonstrations for common zine structures and bindings and a copier on the ready for participants.

When: Noon to 2 p.m. on Feb. 2

Cost: Free, but registration is needed

 

What: Sibs Weekend Cult Classic: screenings of Donnie Darko.

Where: Athena Cinema

When: 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on Feb. 1 and on Feb. 2.

Cost: Tickets are $7 each.

 

What: Black Student Cultural Programming Board presents Young Dolph Sibs Weekend Hip Hop Concert

Where: Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium

When: 8 p.m. on Feb 2

Cost: Tickets are $30 each.
