Bobcat Parents & Families,
What a whirlwind this week has been already! First, I want to say how impressed I am by the maturity and patriotism of our students who showed up to vote this year, and how so many are embracing their freedom of speech to create a better, more united community. Secondly, there are many plans in the works for spring semester, so please pay close attention to the updates in this email and on the coronavirus website to make sure you stay in the loop. Lastly, I hope you will encourage your student to unwind by joining our virtual tailgate tonight at 6 p.m. before the Bobcats take on Central Michigan at 7 p.m.

SIX THINGS TO KNOW FOR SPRING SEMESTER
Visit MyOHIO Student Center starting Nov. 6 to view course offerings for Spring 2020. You'll be able to see what format each class will take before you register, including in-person, online, hybrid, synchronous, and asynchronous.
OHIO is increasing on-campus capacity to accomodate as many residents as possible. First- and second-year students must complete the Spring Housing Confirmation form on ohio.edu/myhousing by Nov. 16 to let us know what your preference is.
All students living on campus are expected to vacate their rooms, leaving no belongings behind, by Nov. 21 at 8 p.m. Spring room assignments for all eligible students will be sent by Dec. 18, along with updates to safety protocols on campus.
Spring semester will run Jan. 19-April 24 and contain three spaced out mini-breaks in the place of spring break.
All on-campus students will have mandatory COVID-19 testing weekly, and off-campus students will test bi-weekly.
Synchronous courses – those held in real-time and led by an instructor – will increase in order to expand peer engagement.
