Brand Guidelines

Our team utilizes the brand and guidelines set forth by University Communications and Marketing and it is expected that all other entities across campus adhere to this practice. According to UCM’s website, “Adhering to the OHIO brand is essential to maintaining consistency as we communicate with all of our various audiences. A consistent message is critical in establishing a powerful brand. Deviation from branding guidelines may create confusion and dilute the brand identity of the University.”

To learn about the OHIO brand, please visit UCM’s brand page.

Logos

All division collateral must include the Division of Student Affairs logo. This logo must have a clear zone from any other content on the piece equal to the width of the “I” in OHIO in the logo type. Use of the University seal, Attack Cat or paw print is strictly prohibited unless special permission from UCM is obtained. Additional logo information can be found on UCM’s Ohio Brand logo page.

Typography

Ohio University’s font library contains three fonts that represent the brand and feeling they want to portray to the audience. OHIO's primary brand identity font is P22 Mackinac and should be used on most executions. Termina and Proxima Nova are also available for specific use cases. To learn more about OHIO’s fonts visit UCM’s OHIO brand typography page.

Please only download these Ohio University brand approved fonts through OIT, as Ohio University uses a special version of Barlow.

Photography

When utilizing photography from Ohio University’s photo archive be sure to download images at “Original Size” to ensure that you have a high-resolution option for your printed piece. Choose photos that are organic and do not have a sense of being “staged.” In addition, images should contain a broad balance of age, gender and ethnicity to ensure diversity in division materials.
