Counseling and Psychological Services (CPS), is deeply saddened by the tragedies in Louisville, Kentucky on October 24 outside a Kroger grocery store, and in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on October 27 at the Tree of Life Synagogue. We extend our thoughts and support to those affected by these acts of violence. We are particularly mindful of the terrible nature of these crimes and the impact it has had on the victims, their loved ones and the larger African American and Jewish Communities. CPS counselors are available to all students who have been affected by these tragedies and other acts of hate-based violence. If support is needed, please come for a drop in appointment Monday to Friday 9:45am to 3:15pm; talk to a counselor at the Lets’ Talk Hours – Sunday to Friday 5pm to 10pm and during after hours, call CPS # 740-593-1616, press option 2 for immediate assistance to talk to a therapist.
During this time, we encourage you to reach out for support as well as extend support to others. It is important for us to stay connected and do what we can to take care of one another.
