Arriving in Athens
Ohio University is located in Athens, Ohio at the edge of the Hocking Hills. The nearest airport is Columbus International Airport in Columbus, Ohio. From Columbus you can rent a car or make arrangements with Athens Airport Shuttle to Athens. Athens is approximately 90 miles southeast of Columbus, Ohio on Route 33. You will be responsible for securing your own transportation to and from Athens. We recommend that you make reservations for a shuttle to Athens in advance.

Go Bus
The company runs buses twice daily from Columbus Airport to Athens. If possible, schedule your arrival in Columbus around the 2 departure time of the Go Bus. The ticket is $11.00

From Port Columbus Airport to Athens
8:25 a.m and 2:25 p.m

From Athens to Port Columbus Airport
10:45a.m. and 4:50 p.m.

Transportation within Athens
The symposium will provide transportation between the symposium venue and the symposium hotels listed below. Participants staying in other locations around town will be responsible for their own transportation to the symposium venue.

Rooms have been blocked for April 6-7, and a symposium rate secured for the Ohio University Inn and the Holiday Inn Express Inn under the The Sports in Africa Conference.
