May 31, 2018 : Electronic Media students dedicate parade broadcast to long-time mentor, volunteer
Students of Electronic Media studies produced a live stream broadcast of the 150th Annual Ironton Lawrence County Memorial Day Parade. Their program was dedicated in honor of Norman Beebe, a long-time volunteer in the Electronic Media program, who served as a mentor to students.

NOrm BeebeBeebe, a U.S. Navy veteran who served in both World War II and the Korean War, died at age 95 last year. The parade’s 9th Division is named in Beebe’s honor and is the division in which the Southern Campus participates.
EM students, alumni, faculty and staff joined to bring the parade to an online audience via live stream during the nearly three hour event. The student videographers used a multi-camera format for the show, which was then edited for rebroadcast on Spectrum Cable Channel 25.
In addition to the students on the production team, the broadcast was produced by Don Moore, EM Program Director and Ernie Hall, EM Production Assistant. Live stream and IT coordination by Randy Bazell, IT Support Specialist; Mike Donley, Web and OULN Coordinator; and Brad Bear, EM alum and owner of Bear Media Services. The broadcast was co-hosted by M.J. McKay, EM alum and announcer for 105.7 FM Kool Hits and by Sarah Diamond Burroway, Director of External Relations and Communications for the Southern Campus. Recent EM graduate Travis Otworth provided on-site interviews with parade participants and dignitaries during the program.
