May 01, 2018 : Ohio Southern Career Expo Open to Grads, Community
The Career Expo is open to our current students, our new graduates, our alumni, and the public. The event will provide a convenient opportunity to network with employers in one location. Jobseekers will be able to interact with employers. The event is free to all participants and, for the first time, is open to members of the community.
Career Fair“It is important for job seekers to improve their skill sets and to have a good awareness of their strengths and weaknesses when approaching the job market,” said Ashlie Bailey, Retention Specialist for the Southern Campus.  “The Career Expo was created specifically with our students and community in mind as opportunity to help improve the lives of our students and community,” she said.
Bailey said students, soon-to-be-graduates and alumni from a variety of career fields including education, criminal justice, nursing, social work, applied management, communications and other disciplines will participate. Other prospective employees are graduates in environmental technology, child development, electronic media, human services technology and law enforcement technology.
In addition to being able to meet individually with employers, participants at the Career Expo can also learn more about services and resources from Opportunities for Ohioans with
Disabilities, Ohio Means Jobs and Ohio Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation.
Nicole Pennington, Dean of the Southern Campus, said Ohio Southern graduates are qualified for many in-demand jobs. “We are proud of the capabilities of our students and alumni and are happy to showcase their talents as they prepare to enter the workforce,” she said.
More than thirty employers seeking employees are registered to participate in the Career Expo. The event will take place Tuesday, May 1, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 5 pm in the Mains Rotunda of the Riffe Center.  For more information, contact Bailey at 740-547-3783 or email More information is available on the Southern Campus website at
