Instructors must follow the university’s official calendar. Here are a couple of important points to note:
Final examinations must be given during the finals week (not prior to finals week).
There should be no class on Reading Day during fall semester.
Room Assignment / Request
In addition to regular class rooms, Ohio University Southern Campus also has several smart rooms and rooms with ceiling mounted projectors. Typically each smart room has a ceiling mounted projector, PC, and a DVD/VCR player. The Associate Dean’s office assigns rooms based on class size and technology needs. If you need a smart room or room with ceiling mounted projector, for your class, however, you may request one from the associate dean’s office prior to the beginning of the quarter. Every attempt will be made to honor your request.
There are several instructional computer labs at OU Southern. Please contact the computer lab manager at (740) 533 4569 to reserve lab time for your class, if you need one.
You may access the textbook system at http://www.ohio.edu/registrar/textbook.cfm
You will need to use your OAK ID to access the textbook system.
For further information contact the Southern faculty office at (740) 533 4540.
All instructors are required to maintain office hours every week. Syllabus for each class must contain information about instructor’s office hours. An Adjunct Faculty office area is located within the Faculty Office complex.
Adjunct faculty members may sign Pink Slips only to override a full class or after the eighth day.
Students who do not meet prerequisites or who wish to carry more than twenty hours should be sent to an advisor or to the Associate Dean’s office.
You will need to use your OAK ID to access your class list.
Faculty evaluations for all classes are administered prior to the final examination week. In each semester, the faculty office provides evaluation forms and instructions to the faculty a couple of weeks before the last day of class. Evaluations may not be given if there are fewer than five students present in the classroom.
