9th Annual Counselor Workshop Day

Counselor Day is an annual workshop that helps counselors and youth administrators continue to enhance their skills in order to better serve their students. It is also a great way to earn Continuing Education Credits.

Leading, Serving and Living with Strength
Molly Schaller, Ph.D.
Molly Schaller is an Associate Professor in the Department of Counselor Education and Human Services at the University of Dayton. Molly studies human development and researches, writes and presents nationally on topics related to human development, learning, vocation and purpose. Molly is a graduate of the Ohio State University, Miami University and Ohio University.

Mary L. Virgin, MEd, MA, LPC

Mary Virgin is a retired Assistant Professor at Ohio University Southern, Ironton, Ohio. Mary began her teaching career in the New Albany School District, Columbus, OH for two years,  followed by two years teaching on the Navajo Indian Reservation, Kayenta, AZ before returning to the Tri-state area, in 1979.
After eleven years as faculty and Assistant Professor at Ashland Community College, Ashland , KY, she then began her career as Faculty and Director of the Human Services Technology Degree Program at Ohio University Southern, Ironton, OH for 23 years .
Since retiring in 2012, Mary now enjoys teaching as Adjunct Faculty / Assistant Professor at Ohio University Southern in the Human Services Technology Degree Program.

Jim Harris
Jim Harris is the owner of Opportunities Consulting Services.  He received his Bachelor of Social Work degree from Morehead State University, and his Master of Social Work degree from the University of Kentucky.  He completed his Education Specialist degree with an emphasis in curriculum and instruction at Marshall University.  He is also working on his Doctoral degree from Marshall University focusing on curriculum and instruction as well as childhood behavioral disorders. 

Jim has presented at a variety of conferences from the local to the international levels.  He has worked with children and families throughout his career as an early interventionist, parent educator, educational consultant, and behavioral health therapist.  He is the creator of “10 Things You Need to Know About Kids”, an audio program that helps parents and teachers be more effective in their work with children.  Jim has worked with a variety of public and private entities including the Fred Rogers Company, United States Department of Education, the Ohio Association for the Education of Young Children, and many more.
Jim has made it his life’s work to help people reach their potential. He believes that the art of communication is presenting information in a way that people can understand it and apply it to their lives.
