Ironton Council for the Arts

ICA_logoOur audience is made of individuals and family groups who purchase season tickets and the general public who attend individual shows. Season ticket holders elect members to the board of trustees. The Ironton Council for the Arts has 501(c)(3) tax exempt status as a non-profit organization and is incorporated under the laws of the State of Ohio. All proceeds from sponsorships and ticket sales are used to secure top tier performers for our series and to cover printing and stage costs.
Ironton Council for the Arts 2018-19 Subscription Concert Series
This year’s concert series includes seven diverse and dynamic performances including instrumental and vocal music, dance, and musical theater ensembles. Performers range from local musicians to those who have garnered national and international acclaim. Our performers include Shantell Ogden, award-winning Americana artist and songwriter from Nashville; No Tools Loaned, a Frankfort, KY-based Bluegrass band; Diana Dinicola and Flamenco Louisvillean exciting, colorful display of authentic Spanish Flamenco dances and music; The Greater Huntington Symphonic Band performing their annual Christmas concert; “Forever Plaid”, a one-act, 1950s doo-wop themed musical theater performance by the Ashland Paramount Players; the Appalachian Celtic Consort from Charleston, WV celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with their unique blend of Celtic music with an Appalachian flavor, and the Alves-Dikener Guitar Duo, featuring Marshall University professors Dr. Julio Alves and Dr. Solen Dikener on guitar and cello, respectively, who fuse their Brazilian and Serbian heritage with the Classical guitar repertoire.

2018-19 Performance Schedule

Performances by Shantell Ogden (September 22), No Tools Loaned (October 27), Flamenco Louisville (November 17), and the Ashland Paramount Players (February 2) are Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. The Greater Huntington Symphonic Band (December 8, 3:00) and Appalachian Celtic Consort (March 17, 2:30 p.m.) are Sunday afternoon performances. The Alves/Dikener guitar/cello duo performance (April 26) is on Friday at 7:30PM. Our concert venues include the Ohio University Southern Bowman Auditorium and Riffe Rotunda, the Ironton High School Auditorium, and the First Presbyterian Church of Ironton.


Season tickets are $40, individual concert tickets are $10, and may be purchased at the door. Ohio University students are admitted free with ID.
