ENVOI is Seeking Creative Writing Submissions
Welcome! Envoi is a literary magazine produced and edited by undergraduate English and Education majors at Ohio University Southern. Over the next year, we will produce three distinct Envoi anthologies divided into three genres: fiction, nonfiction, and poetry written by Ohio University Southern students. Students may submit creative work in any or all genres, please review the preferred standards and practices for each genre below. You will also be asked to include a brief bio (50-100 words), which should accompany your submission(s).
The deadline for submissions is October 30 (Friday) at 11:59 pm.
Fiction Information: Editor Eric Brown
Envoi's Fiction Volume is accepting short and flash fiction pieces of up to 15 pages (though we prefer shorter). Please follow the Modern Manuscript Format as detailed in Shunn, the proper manuscript format webpage. All genres of fiction are welcome; you may submit up to two stories.
Nonfiction Information: Editor Carly Pratt
Envoi's Nonfiction Volume is accepting nonfiction essays of 1,000 to 3,000 words. Please follow the Modern Manuscript Format as detailed in Shunn, the proper manuscript format webpage. You may submit up to two nonfiction works.
Poetry Information: Editor Neena Burris
Envoi’s Poetry Volume is accepting poetry. Send up to three poems in your submission. There must be only one poem per page, and each poem must be no more than a single page. Please single-space your lines and do not not center poems in the middle of the page.
Please feel free to submit work to every genre; however, any submissions disregarding these guidelines will not be read or considered. Proofread your work carefully before sending it in.
