ENVOI is Seeking Creative Writing Submissions
Welcome! Envoi is a literary magazine produced and edited by undergraduates at Ohio University Southern. Over the next year, our goal is to produce one or two Envoi anthologies divided into four genres: fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and art created by Ohio University Regional Higher Education students. If you are a student at any of our regional campuses, we’d love to see your work. Follow the guidelines below and submit your work online.
The deadline for submissions is Friday, December 10 at 11:59 pm.
Fiction: Editor Adam Holsinger
Envoi's Fiction editor is seeking short and flash fiction pieces of up to 15 pages (excerpts from longer works are also considered). Please use Times New Roman, 12 pt font. Double-space your work and do not include extra spacing between your paragraphs. Submit up to two stories maximum and send as a Word file (doc. or docx.) Please do not send pdf files. If you submit more than one piece, please use our SUBMIT page to create a file for each piece.
Nonfiction: Editors Riley Gute, Adam Holsinger, Matthew Lewis
Envoi's Nonfiction editors are seeking nonfiction essays of up to 15 pages. Students from all disciplines are encouraged to submit memoirs, meditations, literary analyses, journalism, opinion pieces, and more! Please use Times New Roman, 12 pt font. Double-space your work and do not include extra spacing between your paragraphs. Submit up to two essays maximum and send as a Word file (doc. or docx.) Please do not send pdf files. If you submit more than one piece, please use our SUBMIT page to create a file for each piece.
Poetry: Editor Riley Gute
Envoi’s Poetry editor is seeking poetry. Send up to five poems in your submission. You may send your poems in a single file, but please include only one poem per page (multi-page poems are welcome). Please single-space your lines and do not center poems in the middle of the page.
Art: Editor Matthew Lewis
Envoi’s Art editor is seeking color and black and white art (photographs, paintings, digital art, photos of sculptures, etc.). Send up to three high resolution photos of work through the submission link below. Size guidelines: Portrait, 6x9 inches or 1800 x 2700 pixels, at 300 dpi. Landscape, 9x6 inches or 2700 x 1800 pixels, at 300 dpi. Please save the work as JPG, JPEG, PNG, or PDF files.
Please feel free to submit work to every genre; however, you need to create separate submissions for each genre. Send your best work and proofread your work carefully before sending it in. This is a juried anthology; not all work submitted will be accepted for publication.
