What can you do with a communication degree? In short, the sky is the limit. Our alumni are communication leaders in ever discipline of the industry. They are not only asking the tough questions in this ever-changing field, but are finding solutions that help the world move forward. Faculty and students here on campus also play a part in how Scripps shapes the future of communication through research, creative activity, internships and extracurricular activities. Scripps student gains in-depth media experience at NFI internship

Feb 7, 2017 Last summer, Alexandra Corsi, now a senior studying strategic communication, was outside of Washington, D.C. completing an internship with the National Fisheries Institute (NFI). Corsi was the institute’s summer media communications intern.

Feb 1, 2017 On Jan. 25, Lisa Maatz spoke as part of the 90 Minutes Series. Maatz, AB ‘89, is now the vice president of the American Association of University Women (AAUW). Her job entails being a lobbyist in Washington D.C., “one of the good ones,” she jokes.

Jan 10, 2017 School of Visual Communication alumna Megan Westervelt, MA ’14, returns to campus this week to work with students and host a public discussion about “Turning interdisciplinary passions into action: Storytelling in Amazonian Ecuador” on Thursday, Jan. 12 from 4:30-6:00 p.m. in Schoonover 145. A reception will follow on the first floor of Schoonover Center and the VisCom Gallery.
