They are not only asking the tough questions in this ever-changing field, but are finding solutions that help the world move forward. OHIO Alumni Association announces new board members

Jul 12, 2017 The OHIO Alumni Association welcomes four new members to the board of directors including Jeff Reed of Dublin, Ohio, who graduated in 2006 with a bachelor’s in communications. New members began serving on the board July 1.

OHIO Celebrates the Schoonover Center (VIDEO)

Jun 27, 2017 On June 8, 2017, a special reception for Steven L. Schoonover and other donors was held at Ohio University's Schoonover Center. The event featured remarks by Dean Scott Titsworth, Interim President David Descutner, and Mr. Schoonover. The festivities concluded with a tour of the building and its innovative technology.

OHIO grad working in Cambodia reflects on students’ latest trip to the country (VIDEO)

Jun 23, 2017 Danielle Keeton-Olsen, a 2016 alumna of Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism, who now works for the Cambodia Daily in Phnom Penh wrote about the students of the Global Leadership Center (GLC) who studied, read and listened to accounts of Cambodia for months, but they arrived in May in a place far beyond their expectations.

Ohio agencies build web portal for journalists who cover suicide

Jun 13, 2017 Three Ohio agencies have collaborated to build a destination web portal to guide journalists as they write stories, interact with survivors and educate others about this public health issue. The Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services administered the grant that allowed Nationwide Children’s Hospital and the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University to develop the content.

Alumna Kallia Wright receives Distinguished Professor Award

May 5, 2017 Alumna Dr. Kallia Wright, MS ’05 and PHD ’09, was awarded the 2017 Harry Joy Dunbaugh Distinguished Professor Award at Illinois College in Jacksonville, Ill., on Friday, April 28. This is considered the highest honor a faculty member can be awarded at Illinois College.

COMS seniors hold historical virtual, walking tours of campus

Apr 26, 2017 At the beginning of the semester, School of Communication Studies’ Professor Roger Aden’s senior capstone course started a major project. Students had some help from Ohio University Alumni Relations, who reached out and asked alumni to submit personal stories or memories from their time at Ohio University, such as their favorite or most memorable places on campus.

Mar 24, 2017 The School of Media Arts & Studies will welcome Imgur’s Sarah Schaaf on Friday, March 31, as a part of MDIA day for the Scripps College of Communication’s Communication Week. An alumnus of the School of Media Arts & Studies, Schaaf is widely regarded as a leader in the field of media and technology and has received wide accolades with profiles in Fortune, Fast Company and Business Insider, to name a few.
