What can you do with a communication degree? In short, the sky is the limit. Our alumni are communication leaders in ever discipline of the industry. They are not only asking the tough questions in this ever-changing field, but are finding solutions that help the world move forward. Faculty and students here on campus also play a part in how Scripps shapes the future of communication through research, creative activity, internships and extracurricular activities. Nov 6, 2017 The 2017 issue of ohiowomen, arriving in mailboxes soon, explores what alumnae are doing that’s unique — as well as what connects them across career fields, grad years, and physical locations. Featured articles include 2016 Distinguished Professor Judith Yaross Lee and several Scripps alumnae living in San Francisco, who share how they help each other navigate the male-dominated tech industry.

VisCom hosts Photo District News’ New and Emerging Photographers session

Oct 6, 2017 Photo District News (PDN) selected the School of Visual Communication to host this year’s PDN’s 30: New and Emerging Photographers to Watch. On Thursday, Sept. 28, a panel of newly established photographers spoke to students about their work and about launching their careers.

Oct 5, 2017 For the first time, WOUB Public Media will feature a concurrent 360-degree camera stream of the annual Ohio University Homecoming Parade on Saturday, Oct. 7 alongside their yearly live stream of the parade.

Live streams of OHIO’s Homecoming Parade to include 360-degree video

Oct 5, 2017 The largest and one of the most spirited events of Ohio University’s Homecoming Week – the annual Homecoming Parade – kicks off at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7. Bobcats unable to attend this community celebration can still watch the festivities live – either through a multi-camera video stream or, for the first time ever, through an immersive 360-degree video stream.

So, she decided to study what was then called communication systems management in the J. W. McClure School of Information and Telecommunication Systems.

Alumna Nancy Cartwright visits Athens for ‘In Search of Fellini’ screenings

Sep 27, 2017 This past weekend, Scripps College of Communication alumna Nancy Cartwright returned to Athens to host two special screenings of her film “In Search of Fellini” at the Athena Cinema on Sept. 22 and 23. Cartwright, who is perhaps best known as the voice of Bart Simpson from “The Simpsons,” wrote and served as executive producer on the movie.

A Bobcat wherever he went, James William Reed honored by 'The Wall That Heals'

Sep 20, 2017 James W. Reed, BSJ ’66, was a Bobcat wherever he went. Though he died during the Vietnam War, his admiration for Ohio University lives on through his two nephews. James W. Reed was killed in action July 24, 1970 after taking a flight that was meant to be for another pilot. The Scripps College of Communication graduate stepped up to take the flight of a new father. He was supposed to return home that month.
