Scripps welcomes alumni, friends at Homecoming reception

ATHENS, Ohio (October 10, 2016)—Before and after the Homecoming Parade on Saturday, Oct. 8, Ohio University alumni and friends gathered in Schoonover Center where they socialized with other students, faculty and staff. When the parade started, many filed out onto the sidewalks outside Schoonover, while WOUB coverage of the parade was also being live streamed inside. If you didn't make it to Athens for Homecoming, a video of the live stream is available here.

As the parade wrapped up, many Scripps alumni made their way into Schoonover for the college Homecoming reception. Small booths with information on each school within the college were setup in the lobby.

In the Lasher Learning Center students conducted interviews on Facebook Live with alumni from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism. The first floor gallery was open and had an exhibit featuring the work of several current students in the School of Visual Communication.

“The VisCom student show just really exemplifies the transformation of this program, it’s one of the highlights of the university,” said Jeffery D. Chaddock, BSC ’88. “The weather is perfect, the parade and of course the alumni band was extraordinary. So is coming back to the new building.”
