By Kerry Tuttle
ATHENS, Ohio (April 23, 2014)—Aimee Edmondson, an assistant professor in the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism, will serve as the 2014 Graduate Commencement speaker on Friday, May 2, 2014. This announcement comes after Edmondson was named the Outstanding Graduate Faculty Member in 2013.
“I’m so honored that my students found me worthy of being named the Outstanding Graduate Faculty Member last year,” said Edmondson. “At the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism we have such a wonderful tradition of supporting and mentoring our grad students. And now some of my own former doctoral students are faculty members at other great universities, and I just know they’ll keep up that tradition of serving as mentors for their own students, both grad and undergrad.”
Edmondson has received many awards for her work as both a journalist and a mentor, including the N. Victor Goodman Honors Tutorial College Award in 2011 for her work as a tutor for HTC students.
The graduate commencement ceremony will take place May 2 at 9:30 a.m. in the Convocation Center. For questions, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
