Whether they're drawing inspiration for their screenplays from local culture in Spain or covering breaking news in the nation's capitol, students in the Scripps College of Communication have endless opportunities to travel and intern all over the world.
What is an immersive experience?
We call them "immersive" because these experiences--whether they last 10 days or a full semester--allow our students to gain an authentic understanding of the careers, locations and potential life stories they're sampling for themselves. When Media Arts & Studies students are interning on the set of a broadcast TV show in Hollywood as part of the OHIO-in-LA program, they're immersed in the life of a media professional. This experience gives them a glimpse of what it will really be like to pursue their dream career, and at the same time it shows them they're prepared to do just that. Employers notice that preparation, too, and they're eager to place more of our students.
This is just one of so many examples of how students in the Scripps College of Communication benefit from the reputation for excellence we've built over the last 50-plus years. Explore more of our immersive programs at the links below.
