Specializations: Interpersonal & Organizational Communication

Chuck Kaminski (M.A., San Diego State University) is an organizational scholar with narrative sensibilities. During his undergrad at DePaul University, Chuck studied communication and performed service work, gaining a strong understanding of social justice and the positive impacts academia can have when committed to community principles. At San Diego State, his master’s thesis utilized ethnographic methods framed through narrative paradigm to look at the ways individuals without homes communicatively constitute resilience in their lives. Chuck’s interests include narrative, critical methodologies, organizational communication, homelessness and in the future he would like to study ways to improve communication and resource facilitation to people without homes, the ways narrative is used (acts as a barrier) in substance recovery organizations, and how communication and stigma are navigated in harm reduction organizations.
