OhioHealth partners with the Columbus Zoo, so my intern group got to spend a day at The Wilds and take a "wildside" tour.

This summer, I began my internship as a Marketing and Communication intern at OhioHealth O’Bleness Hospital in Athens, OH. This is a year-long internship, so there are still many opportunities and experiences in my future at O’Bleness Hospital (stay tuned for more!).

Thanks to my experience this summer, I have already grown my portfolio to show work for event planning, news releases, bi-weekly newsletters, and printed marketing materials. One of the best bonuses of my internship is that I had the opportunity to stay in Athens all summer. There is nothing like Athens in the summer (come see for yourself)! Being placed at a regional OhioHealth hospital means my responsibilities are more widespread than interns at the corporate office in Columbus, OH. Those interns focused on areas such as blogs and social media, events and sponsorships.

I love being at a regional location because I get to see many different projects and get great hands-on experience that I could not get anywhere else. For example, I have the opportunity to write news releases, but I also get to help plan events and be a part of photoshoots for new marketing campaigns.
