Inventors: How to Work With Us
Faculty and staff are encouraged to disclose new inventions, ideas and technologies to the Technology Transfer Office to ensure the protection of intellectual property. The staff evaluates the market potential for the invention, as well as whether to pursue patent or trademark protection.
The office is guided by Ohio University’s technology commercialization policy, which manages issues of intellectual property ownership, royalty income distribution, and conflict of interest. Policy 17.001 can be read here: http://www.ohio.edu/policy/17-001.html.
To report your invention, software program, or idea to the Technology Transfer Office, please use the appropriate invention disclosure form:
NOTE: Do not submit Invention Disclosures to the Technology Transfer Office via e-mail. Return a hard copy to the Technology Transfer Office located in the Innovation Center at 340 West State St.
For questions about this form, please contact Bob Silva at 740-593-0976 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
