OHIO Innovation Center welcomes area entrepreneurs to open coaching hours

From staff reports | Jul 13, 2017

The Innovation Center (IC), Ohio University’s small business incubator, is opening its doors to walk-ins seeking startup advice. TechGROWTH Ohio Executive in Residence Michele Migliuolo is on-site several times per week to talk with budding entrepreneurs about their business ventures and to provide free feedback, guidance and advice.

Coaching hours are Tuesdays from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., Wednesdays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Migliuolo, co-founder of five technology companies, is an advisor, coach and mentor to multiple startups. He has 25 years’ experience as an executive in manufacturing and sales of scientific capital equipment and analytical instruments, bridging technologies from the physical sciences to the life sciences. Before joining TechGROWTH Ohio, he was the commercialization alliance manager at Innovation Works in Pittsburgh. Migliuolo received master’s and doctoral degrees in physics from the University of Rochester.

“We are excited to partner with TechGROWTH Ohio in announcing the launch of regular Executive in Residence open coaching hours here at the Innovation Center. We believe that coaching creates an environment where individual founders can define their own success and identify their own gifts, strengths and passions. Additionally, working with a coach helps entrepreneurs accomplish their goals much faster than they would alone. We look forward to meeting new founders who visit the IC during open hours,” said Stacy Strauss, director of the Innovation Center.

Located at 340 W. State St. in Athens, the IC is home to 10 companies in the areas of life sciences and biotechnology, software and other technology products, as well as four anchor tenants. For companies that do not need space, the IC’s new Virtual Client Membership offers entrepreneurs access to the incubator’s startup resources. This includes direct assistance from its professional staff, access to five conference rooms, use of the business center equipment and inclusion in entrepreneurial events and trainings.

The Innovation Center and TechGROWTH Ohio partner to support entrepreneurs in the region through business coaching, support and networking services.
