Amir Farnoud to be featured on WATH 970 talk show Jan. 24

Amir Farnoud, an assistant professor of chemical and biomolecular engineering in the Ohio University Russ College of Engineering and Technology, will be the featured guest on the Party Line talk show with Dave Palmer on WATH radio from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Wed., Jan. 24. Listeners can tune in to 970 AM/97.1 FM and can call in to ask questions at 740-592-6646.

Farnoud will discuss his recent research on how e-cigarettes affect the lungs and answer questions such as:

  • How does an e-cigarette differ from a conventional cigarette?

  • How popular are e-cigarettes in the United States?

  • What exactly is in an e-liquid and in e-cigarette vapor?

  • What do we know about the health effects of e-cigarettes?

  • How many particles do we inhale when we “smoke” an e-cigarette?

  • What is lung surfactant and how do e-cigarette/cigarette smoke particles affect it?

Farnoud’s research interests include biomedical engineering, nanoparticle-mediated drug delivery, biological membranes and interfaces and fungal infections. He has been a member of the Ohio University faculty since 2015.
