Diabetes Institute to be featured on WATH 970 talk show Nov. 15

In conjunction with Diabetes Awareness Month, Darlene Berryman and Karie Cook of the Ohio University Diabetes Institute will be the featured guests on the Party Line talk show with Dave Palmer on WATH radio from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Wed., Nov. 15.

Berryman and Cook will discuss the Diabetes Institute’s recent survey, conducted in partnership with the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs, which found a high rate of diabetes in southeastern Ohio. They also will talk about the challenges people face in managing diabetes. In addition, Berryman and Cook will outline the institute’s plans to address diabetes in the region, including developing educational materials for patients and physicians and strengthening relationships between clinical and community providers that offer diabetes programs.

Berryman is executive director of the institute, a professor with the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and College of Health Sciences and Professions, and a principal investigator at the Edison Biotechnology Institute.
