About Virtual Group Fitness Classes

Take part in a Virtual Group Fitness schedule brought to you collaboratively by Campus Recreation and WellWorks! Join our Group Fitness Instructors with the click of a button from the convenience of your own home during the scheduled times that are outlined below! This schedule will be available between April 6th and May 3rd. In addition to these live virtual classes that are available, be sure to check out other Free Fitness Resources and pre-recorded Group Fitness Instructor Youtube Videos available for your as well! 

Voluntary Participation Disclaimer

*Participation in Virtual Group Fitness Classes is completely voluntary. There are risks and hazards, minor and serious, associated with participation in Group Fitness Classes. Participants voluntarily assume all responsibility and risk of loss, damage, illness, and/or injury to person or property associated with participation in Virtual Group Fitness Classes. Virtual Group Fitness Classes require a minimum level of fitness to participate safely. WellWorks and Campus Recreation strongly advise participants to consult with their physician if they have any doubts of their physical activity to safely participate. 

Virtual Fitness Class Sign-up Instructions 

  1. Click the "Join Class" or "Request Password" link in the far right column of the schedule below. 
    • If you selected a class that states "Join Class," then you will be prompted to fill out a Release of Liability form via Qualtrics, and then will be given access to the class link upon completing the form. These live virtual classes will start at the given time, and can be accessed any time throughout the session through the "Join Class" link. 
    • If you selected a class that states "Request Password," you will be prompted to fill out fill out a Release of Liability form via Qualtrics. Also, you will need to request a password from Steve Clusman at least 24 hours prior to the class start time. His email will be linked for specific classes needing a password.
      • Once you receive the password, you must log in to the class ten minutes prior to the class start time to gain entry. Entry to the class will be locked at the start-time. 
  2. Once you receive the class schedule upon completion of the Release of Liability form, select the class that you wish to attend and enjoy the session!

*Prior to starting your first virtual fitness class, please take the time to complete a one-time Pre-participation Assessment if you are interested. 

*For classes that require private passwords, email clusman@ohio.edu to receive the password at least 24 hours in advance prior to the class. Also, you must sign in 10 minutes before the posted class time to join!

Ohio University is one of over 40 schools participating in the NIRSA Recreation Movement Challenge to help promote physical activity and movement during this time. Whether you attend a virtual group fitness class or you simply go outside for a walk, be sure to log your minutes of movement to help Ohio University win the challenge!
